worked as an intern for the summer, best experience of my life. friendly faces and good personality's. I would highly recommend this hospital to everyone!!
Great staff. Hospital parking lot sucks. They need need to build a parking garage. The parking is ridiculous. My mother in a walker and we have to park on the other side of the lot. Stop being cheap and build a damn parking garage.. not a other lot. A garage with parking levels, 7 levels will be so much easier then looking for a parking spot on the other side of salem...
My then 3 month old son was seen by a pediatric GI located on the campus. The doctor send us for lab work at the hospital. We sat in the pedi registration area for 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. No one else was before us. The woman who registered us made a comment of not being able to find my son in their system. I explained he had never been there. She was completely disrespectful about the fact that we delivered elsewhere. The lab tech was rude, telling us we were inconveniencing her lunch and she couldn't go because we were there. She then had us hold down my son (she didn't want to call a second tech to help) and when she took his blood, she sprayed blood everywhere including all over himself. He was screaming and she was very rough with him. A few days later we found out she ran the wrong tests and he would need to have them done again. Our pediatrician's office agreed to do the lab work because I refused to go back to Salem Hospital's lab. When the bill came in for the lab work, I called the hospital and told them we would not be paying for it (also called my insurance company so they wouldn't either) due to the lab tech running the wrong labs. Their billing department "looked into it". I was called back and told I was lying saying the correct tests were run and I was responsible for for payment. It took my son's doctor calling to say that the wrong labs were done to get them to "waive" the fees. They never apologized. We will never return as this is how they treat sick children and parents.
Sad to say but this place is worse than union hospital. I went in was brought in immediately but it was on a bed in the hallway. I waited over three hours!!!!! And still wasn't seen. I asked the receptionist, I asked a nurse everyone gave me the same answer it's busy. Worst experience in my entire life. I will never come back to this hospital EVER!!! I'm warning you, do not go there you will regret it.
Worst experience by far! Waited 6 hours to be called into a room and then had to wait a couple of hours in there too! No one cares how sick you are and always have the same excuse “not enough beds” “very busy”.... well maybe you should get more beds and staff! You come in here to basically hand your life over to someone else and they completely disregard you!
